Webinars
FAQs
What is a webinar?
A webinar is a live interactive presentation between a presenter and an audience where each participant sits at his/her own computer, and is connected to the presenter and other participants via the internet. Webinars typically follow an agenda and have a specified starting and ending time.
How does it work?
Webinar offers the audience both visual and auditory access to the presenter and the information shared.
- Visual: Presenters share their knowledge and information via Power Point presentations that invite participant interaction through live chat, auditory questions, and the use of emoticons and a white board.
- Audio: Using teleconferencing participants dial in and listen and can communicate with the presenter over the phone. Using VOIP, participants listen to the presenter through their computer sound card and speakers or headphones, and may be able to communicate via a microphone connected to their computer. In either method, they may also communicate by typing text messages and selecting emoticons.
